Research Internship + PhD (2027) — MilaDy

I am recruiting a PhD student to develop physics-aware machine learning methods for turbulent dynamo modelling as part of the ANR MilaDy project.

This research is a collaboration between CEREA (ENPC) and LISN (Université Paris-Saclay). The PhD student will be co-supervised by Sibo Cheng and Didier Lucor.

Research Internship + Potential PhD (2027) — QWERTY

I am recruiting a Master’s intern to develop a reproducible, machine-learning-ready data pipeline for historical wildfires in France and Europe. The project will support wildfire simulation, prediction and parameter calibration using FlamMap and PyTorchFire.

This research is part of the PEPR FORESTT QWERTY project and is a collaboration between CEREA (ENPC, Institut Polytechnique de Paris) and EPHE. The internship will be jointly supervised by Sibo Cheng and Christelle Hély.

A potential PhD continuation will focus on mapping wildfire burn probabilities across France using calibrated simulation ensembles and learning region-specific fire parameters from biomass, vegetation and climate data. Continuation to the PhD will depend on internship performance and mutual agreement.
